Lovely news of the day: The Shining Girls won Best Suspense Thriller in the RT Book Awards, which comprehensively nail down the best books they’ve reviewed over the year in different genres.

Congrats to all the winners in the other categories, including friends Karen Lord, Mary Robinette Kowal, Diana Rowland, and to all the short-listees.

The Shining Girls was also one of Amazon best mystery/thrillers of 2013,  NPR’s Book Concierge great reads of 2013 and Stephen King included it in his top 10 of the year.

It was short-listed for The CWA Goldsboro Gold Dagger and it’s currently up for the Strand Critic’s Choice Award against some of my favourite authors, including George Pelecanos and William Boyd.
