Thrilled to finally be able to announce this! Endemol’s Additional Dialogue has picked up Broken Monsters for a TV adaptation after a four way bidding war.
Lydia Storie, the Director of Development approached me at Book Expo America last year before the book was even out and the team came to meet me in my hotel in Los Angeles. I’m so excited about their passion and their insight into the novel.

But here’s a snip:
Additional Dialogue’s Scott Aversano and Tom Gormican will serve as executive producers, with VP Development Jessica Matthews and Director of Development Lydia Storie overseeing the project. “Beukes’ novel captures our culture’s fascination with horror,” Aversano said. “Her clever choice to explore this within the constructs of a supernatural novel – especially one which presents its own horribleness so elegantly – is a delightful paradox.”
And here’s Jenn Northington of Book Riot’s dream cast which is so on the money, I forwarded on to the Additional Dialogue team for their consideration.
So what happens now? Additional Dialogue are talking to directors and writers and actors and looping me in, to put together the perfect creative team. I’ll keep you posted.
