Tis the season for Halloween round-ups! Stylist named Broken Monsters one of the ‘15 scariest books of all time‘, alongside such giants of genre, Margaret Atwood and Shirley Jackson, and Carmen Maria Machado, who is absolutely phenomenal, and her book of short stories, Her Body And Other Parties is one of my favourite books of all time. ALL TIME!
So, that’s some lovely company.
Sarah Shaffi over at Stylist writes:
Detective Gabi Versado is no stranger to hunting down killers. Failed artist Clayton Broom has found new dreams, dreams made of flesh and bone. Set in Detroit and switching between various characters, this serial killer thriller shows that horror can be literary without compromising on scariness.
Thank you to everyone who keeps reading and sharing Broken Monsters, and to reader @booksandagirl for appropriately moody photo of the German edition of Broken Monsters.
