After the publication of a list of 100 best crime novels that had only 28 female authors, the wonderful people at The Guardian published a list of 50 great thrillers by women.
To quote from the Guardian article:
When the Sunday Times picked itsĀ 100 favourite crime and spy novels published since 1945Ā last weekend, only 28 were by women. āSeeing the chronic conscious and unconscious bias against work by women is enraging,ā wrote Marian Keyes on Twitter. āYeh, and donāt @ me, saying that men are just better, donāt be that tool.ā
I’m thrilled thatĀ The Shining Girls was included, rubbing shoulders with Mo Hayder, Gillian Flynn, and Margaret Atwood.
