After the publication of a list of 100 best crime novels that had only 28 female authors, the wonderful people at The Guardian published a list of 50 great thrillers by women.

To quote from the Guardian article:

When the Sunday Times picked itsĀ 100 favourite crime and spy novels published since 1945Ā last weekend, only 28 were by women. ā€œSeeing the chronic conscious and unconscious bias against work by women is enraging,ā€ wrote Marian Keyes on Twitter. ā€œYeh, and don’t @ me, saying that men are just better, don’t be that tool.ā€

I’m thrilled thatĀ The Shining Girls was included, rubbing shoulders with Mo Hayder, Gillian Flynn, and Margaret Atwood.
